1. The Commodore Hotel

The Commodore, located at the highest point on Cape Town’s historic Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, offers spectacular views of Table Mountain, Signal Hill, Granger Bay, Table Bay and Robben Island. Each of the elegantly furnished en-suite bedrooms is air-conditioned, bright and spacious. All rooms have satellite TV, tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, in-room internet access, electric razor plug and hair dryer. Villa Lobengula is a beautiful and tranquil space tucked away in the depths of the valley bushveld. It is a place where your soul can rejuvenate and rest in supreme peace and comfort whilst the vibration of authentic Africa dances through your being. The Villa comprises 6 suites and mirrors a traditional African “kraal” enclosed by breath-taking views. Depart New York on your South African Airways flight to Johannesburg. Sit back, relax, and prepare for an exhilarating adventure.
Day 2. Johannesburg/Cape Town, South Africa
On arrival in Johannesburg, take a short domestic flight to Cape Town. You will be met by an African Travel Inc. representative at Cape Town Airport and transferred to your reserved hotel.
Day 3. Cape Town
Begin the day with spectacular vistas of the city on a cable car ride to the top of Table Mountain. Sense the depth of history as you drive past The Castle, City Hall and the old Slave Lodge. Stroll through the cobblestoned Malay Quarter and browse Greenmarket Square. (B)
Day 4. Cape Town
Spend today discovering the rugged Cape Peninsula, passing beautiful beaches along the way. Look out for wildlife in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and view the engaging penguin colony at Boulders Beach. (B)
Day 5. Cape Town
Relish your last leisurely day in this fascinating city. Take a walk down Kloof and Long streets and explore the buzzing bistros, boutiques, cafes and restaurants in the area. For wine connoisseurs, an excursion into the nearby wine country is a "must do". Stroll through the oak lined streets of Stellenbosch or the quaint village of Franschhoek, sample wines with chocolates, olives and cheeses or indulge in one of the many award winning gourmet restaurants. Hidden Gems: – This evening, enjoy dinner at the Portswood Hotel’s Quarterdeck Restaurant. Rich in heritage and history, the restaurant specializes in traditional Cape Malay cooking.
Day 6. Cape Town / Port Elizabeth / Shamwari Game Reserve
After a delicious breakfast, bid adieu to Cape Town - transfer to the airport for the flight to Port Elizabeth. Upon arrival, you will be transferred by road to your reserved lodge in the Shamwari Game Reserve for a three night safari.(BLD)
Day 7. Shamwari Game Reserve
Dedicated to nature conservation, Shamwari Game Reserve has been primed accordingly. The vast ever-changing vegetation and mild weather conditions provide the perfect home and hunting ground for multitudes of different species. Twice-daily game drives throughout the reserve, accompanied by expert guides and trackers, provide plenty of opportunities to witness wildlife. Day 8. Shamwari Game Reserve

Your game ranger will share his expert knowledge of the area and ensure that your experience is both rewarding and informative. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before continuing to Johannesburg. Once you have landed in Johannesburg, transfer to your Johannesburg hotel for overnight. (B)

Keep an eye out for rainbows as you walk the misty rainforest trail along the Zimbabwean side of the falls. Marvel at the thunderous noise of the millions of gallons of water swirling around the islets and tumbling over Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls and Rainbow Falls. This evening experience the grandeur above the falls as you sail upstream on the Zambezi River on a sunset dinner cruise. (BD)
