Our African Wildlife Good News

Right now we could all use some good news stories. And there's no better place to find a little joy than seeing and learning about the wildlife in Africa.  From virtual safaris to the sounds in the bush, check in as we share the latest African wildlife stories as they happen.

Live from the Bush

Adine Roode, the visionary owner of a luxury safari lodge called Jabulani and founder of the first elephant orphanage in South Africa is an impressive woman with a story to share. Her passion for pachyderms and wildlife continues to have a positive impact on Africa's conservation efforts. Her recent award as the Relais & Châteaux Women of the Year 2019 is well deserved. Featured in our Safaris Celebrating Women,  the Jabulani safari experience highlighted in our South Africa Regal Retreats also shows how guests can have a deeper connection to wildlife.

In celebration of Earth Month, Adine will join African Travel, Inc. live from the bush on Thursday, April 30 at 8:00am PST to update us on her Jabulani experiences and their newest addition,  a 7- month old orphan albino elephant named Khanyisa.

Virtually Visiting Animals

To get a glimpse of what it’s like to see animals in the wild, here’s virtual safaris to see now. Then when you’re ready to travel, we’ll show you how to visit these places and wildlife in person.

  • Little Chem Chem featured in our Tantalizing Tanzania itinerary is following a slow safari online at #ChemChemMoment

The waterhole is still the place to be seen for these elephants at the family-friendly Madikwe Safari Lodge.

  • Lion Sands Game Reserve from our Ultimate South Africa and Victoria Falls safari sent out their Field Guide Francois Rosslee to share his video diaries of his afternoon safari and morning drive and bush walk.

Songs and Sounds from the Bush

In South Luangwa in Zambia, the Bushcamp Company featured in our Leopards, Lions and Tiger Fish brings some vocal offerings from their lodge choir. We especially like the animals backing them.
