2. Belmond Khwai River Lodge

Khwai is situated on the shady banks of the Khwai River, a tributary of the Okavango on the northern boundary of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve. All luxury tents are housed on raised wooden platforms, offering great views, and shaded by a traditional African thatch roof. The large private decks are furnished with easy chairs and a hammock, ideal for viewing wildlife, or for enjoying a private dinner in complete privacy. The tent interiors are well appointed with ensuite bathrooms, fully stocked mini bar, four poster bed with mosquito netting, as well as air conditioning, a ceiling fan and electric heater.  In-room safes are provided, a hair dryer, facility for charging camera/video batteries, tent to tent internal telephone service, intercom system to reception and 24 hour battery lighting in each tent. The public areas feature an elevated deck or “hide” for viewing game, swimming pool, inside and outside fireplaces, same day laundry service, internet access and satellite TV located discreetly away from the main lounge and dining areas, curio shop, a high powered telescope, perfect for seeing game on the floodplain and a small reference library on the flora and fauna of the area.  There is a fully equipped spa treatment room for those wanting to pamper themselves while on safari. 

3. Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge

Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge is located in the Chobe National Park. Perched on the banks of the Savute Channel, the lodge offers spectacular game viewing. All luxury tents are housed on raised wooden platforms, offering great views, and shaded by a traditional African thatch roof. The tent interiors are luxuriously appointed with such comforts as an ensuite bathroom with private outdoor showers, private fully stocked mini bar, four poster bed complete with mosquito netting, as well as air conditioning, a ceiling fan and electric heater. For your convenience, in-room safes are provided as well as a hair dryer, facility for charging camera/video batteries, intercom system to reception and 24 hour battery lighting in each tent. The large private decks are furnished with easy chairs and a hammock, ideal for viewing wildlife. The camp offers an elevated swimming pool area overlooking the riverbed where guests have an opportunity to watch the animals while relaxing at the pool. Additional amenities include same day laundry service, a private outdoor leisure area with complimentary internet access and satellite TV located discreetly away from the main lounge and dining areas, curio shop, a high powered telescope for star gazing and a small reference library of books and videos on the flora and fauna of the area. All meals, drinks, premium brand spirits and wines, twice daily shared game activities are included.

Arrive in the "City of Gold" where you’ll be warmly welcomed and assisted with your transfer to your reserved luxury hotel. Relax and acclimate before tomorrow’s flight to Botswana and the start of your safari adventure.

Day 3. Johannesburg / Moremi Wildlife Reserve

You’ll be whisked back to the airport for your morning flight to Maun, Botswana. Meet your bush pilot and enjoy the views as you approach the pristine wildlife oasis of the Moremi Wildlife Reserve located in Botswana’s Okavango Delta, the world’s largest inland delta. Immerse yourself in the safari experience at your intimate camp, boasting plenty of avenues for viewing wildlife. After lunch, gear up for an afternoon of game viewing and an orientation of the Moremi's diverse flora and fauna. (BLD)

After breakfast grab your binoculars and enjoy a full day of game viewing experiences in the company of other camp guests. Led by a professional guide, there is the possibility of seeing many species of animals. (BLD)

Day 5. Moremi Wildlife Reserve

As dawn breaks and the animals begin to stir, set out for your morning game drive, immersing yourself in the sights and sounds of the bush. As your expert ranger explains, watch for the subtle familiar interaction of a herd of elephants and listen for the distinctive lion's roar as it guards its territory. Zoom in on the curious buffalo peering back at you, catch a cheetah playing with her cubs and marvel at the graceful movements of the kudu and impala. Whether maneuvering your safari vehicle to help you capture the best photographs or pointing out a rarely seen animal, your ranger's knowledge and expertise are impeccable. (BLD)

Day 6. Moremi Wildlife Reserve / Chobe National Park

After breakfast, you are transferred to the airstrip for your shared tour flight to your next safari camp perched on the banks of the Savute Channel in the Chobe National Park. The park covers an area of approximately 4500 square miles and encompasses floodplains, swamps and woodland. This is a dynamic wilderness of sweeping savanna, dotted by rocky outcrops and surrounded by marshes and the Savute Channel, one of Northern Botswana's greatest mysteries, which alternates between flowing freely and lying dormant. Your safari lodge is a spectacular base from which to explore the area. (BLD)

Day 7. Chobe National Park

Wake up with the wildlife and join your expert ranger for a game drive in an open-air safari vehicle for the chance to spot some of the many different animals. The region has diverse and prolific wildlife and is best known for its large elephant population. Abundant plains game such as roan, sable antelope, giraffe, and predators particularly lion, cheetah and hyena and the rarely seen aardvark can also be seen. (BLD)

Day 8. Chobe National Park

After breakfast enjoy another day of game viewing activities with fellow camp guests. Experience the rumble of elephants through the Chobe National Park. You can also choose to explore the evocative Baobab groves or examine ancient Bushman paintings. (BLD)
