1. The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa

2. Singita Ebony Lodge

Singita Ebony stands amongst enormous trees on the banks of the Sand River in a privately owned game reserve in the Sabi Sand Reserve. Inspired by the romance and adventure of tented camps and explorers’ abodes, Ebony’s interiors are a contemporary interpretation of the classic safari lodge. Each secluded suite features a private heated plunge pool. Amenities for each suite include ensuite bathroom and shower, outside shower, hairdryer, room mini safe, air-conditioning, overhead fans, private lounge, mini bar and fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, direct dial telephones and game viewing deck. 5. Vumbura Plains Camp

Botswana, Okavango Delta

Vumbura Plains Camp is situated in a private concession in the extreme north of the Okavango Delta. The concession has a wide variety of habitats, diverse wildlife and an enormous traversing area of over 148,000 acres. Vumbura Plains comprises two separate seven-roomed satellite camps, each with its own uniquely-designed lounge and dining area tucked beneath a canopy of shady, indigenous trees. A star-gazing deck is set over the floodplain, a place to gaze upwards or simply enjoy the convivial campfire setting. Each luxurious room is raised off the ground, with indoor and outdoor shower, full ensuite bathroom and a sunken lounge with views of the floodplains. Each room also has a plunge pool and private deck. Vumbura Plains offers both land and water based game viewing activities. Morning and afternoon game drives are in open 4x4 Land Rovers. Night drives with spotlights allow you to find those nocturnal animals, while exploring the Okavango by traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) reveals the fascinating smaller creatures of the Delta. Water-level dependent, boating is another idyllic form of water wildlife viewing.

Day 2. Cape Town

Meet your personal driver and guide for the next two days and embark on a day of discovering the pristine coastline and quaint towns of “The Fairest Cape.” Keep your binoculars ready to spot wildlife in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Continue along the coastline to Boulders Beach and linger among the penguins. (BL)

Day 3. Cape Town

Today’s sojourn celebrates the beautiful winelands. Learn about the region’s history and the process of wine-making when you hop aboard a 4x4 vehicle for a wine safari with an estate guide. Take a stroll through the gardens of one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms. Enjoy a farm-to-table lunch as you dine on crisp salads, handcrafted cheeses and freshly baked breads. (BL)

Day 4. Cape Town

Shop, explore or relax at your own leisure today. Don’t miss a ride on the cable car to the top of iconic Table Mountain for sweeping city and ocean views. Browse the bustling Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and explore the colorful Malay Quarter. (B)

Day 5. Cape Town / Singita Sabi Sand

Take flight for a thrilling safari to a private game reserve in the heart of Big Five country near Kruger National Park. After you settle in to your lodge, meet your expert ranger for your first game drive and begin tracking and learning about the distinct behaviors of the Big Five as well as the wealth of wildlife that awaits. Day 6. Singita Sabi Sand

Rise early when the animals are most lively for this morning’s game drive. Be alert to capture panoramic shots of the abundance of wildlife across the reserve. Return to your camp for lunch and relax before setting out on an evening game drive. (BLD)

Day 7. Singita Sabi Sand

Enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives. Perhaps join a bushwalk to learn about the plants used to make traditional medicines or visit a neighboring village to meet the people and learn more about their culture and way of life. (BLD)

Day 8. Singita Sabi Sand / Livingstone, Zambia

After a final game drive, fly off to Livingstone. Your safari-style lodging overlooks the Zambezi River and is the ideal locale for discovering the spectacular Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Start exploring when you board a small boat for a sundowner cruise along the Zambezi River. (BLD)

Day 9. Livingstone

There is no set pattern to your days at Tongabezi. Walk the misty rain forest trails along the falls and soak up what has been described as “a scene so lovely that it must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight.” Enjoy a private lunch on a nearby sandbar or cycle to Simonga village and meet the friendly Zambian people. Visit the Tujatane School, established as a pre-school class with only 15 children, which has since grown to a primary school with over 240 students. Tonight, recline on your deck overlooking the river and be swept away by the sights, sounds and magic of Africa. (BLD)

Day 10. Livingstone / Okavango Delta, Botswana

Incredible experiences await as you fly off to your next destination — the pristine wildlife oasis of Botswana’s Okavango Delta. You’ll be treated to the ultimate safari experience at your intimate camp, boasting plenty of game viewing and birding opportunities all year round. Meet your expert ranger for an afternoon orientation to the delta’s varying ecosystems, ranging from lush grasslands to dense mopane bushveld. (BLD)

Day 11. Okavango Delta

As dawn breaks and the animals begin to stir, gather your camera and join your ranger to begin exploring the annually flooded grasslands surrounding your camp, and beyond into the drier plains. Listen for the trumpeting of a large herd of elephants passing through or the lion’s roar as it guards its pride. After the day cools down, venture out again to look for endangered wild dogs lazing with their pack, and leopards, cheetah and African wildcat prowling the shadows. (BLD)

Day 12. Okavango Delta

Venture by motorboat or canoe and explore the Delta's secret channels and hidden lagoons. Bring your binoculars to zoom in on the exceptional bird life from the Pel’s fishing owl, to chirping cisticola. Relax until your evening safari when your ranger will spotlight the nocturnal animals. After dinner, gather ‘round the campfire to share your favorite adventures with your safari companions. (BLD)
