1. Cape Grace

2. Singita Boulders Lodge

Singita Boulders Lodge is set along the banks of the Sand River in Singita’s privately owned reserve within the Sabi Sand Reserve. The lodge is an inviting oasis, where organic interiors integrate with the raw African beauty outside. Each of the air conditioned suites features an ensuite bathroom with indoor shower, outdoor shower, private living area, mini-bar, tea and coffee making facilities, and game viewing deck with a private heated plunge pool. All suites have direct dial telephones. The main lodge has a swimming pool, spa and gym facilities, and a library with television. Wi-Fi is complimentary. The lounge and timber deck are perfect spots to watch wildlife on the banks of the Sand River. The lodge also has an open boma (traditional outdoor enclosure) for dining under the stars. The world-class Singita Bush Spa offers a holistic and healing approach to treatments. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles, guided bush walks, mountain bike rides, conducted by experienced rangers and trackers, community visits and stargazing.

 

3. Royal Chundu River Lodge

Zambia, Livingstone

Royal Chundu is the perfect getaway. Scattered along the banks of the Zambezi River, the luxury suites at River Lodge radiate seclusion and tranquility. Interior furnishings echo the Zambezi hues and accentuate the surrounding natural beauty. Teak walkways connect the suites to the main lodge, which houses the library, restaurant, wine cellar, cocktail bar and an infinity pool for relaxing and cooling off during the afternoon. At Royal Chundu, dining is an integral part of your experience, and the chefs take pride in preparing dishes that mirror the rich heritage of the region and the hospitality of the Zambian people. Guests can choose to dine indoors in the restaurant, on the viewing deck, in the privacy of their suites or in the Chief’s boma, where dinner is cooked on open-flames and accompanied by Zambian drumming and traditional Makishi dancers. Royal Chundu only employs people from the surrounding villages of Mushekwa, and Muluka. During your stay, go on a tour of the local villages and get to know the incredible personalities that make up the Royal Chundu family.

4. Vumbura Plains

Botswana, Okavango Delta

Vumbura Plains is situated in a private concession in the extreme north of the Okavango Delta. The concession has a wide variety of habitats, diverse wildlife and an enormous traversing area of over 148,000 acres. Vumbura Plains comprises two separate seven-roomed satellite camps, each with its own uniquely-designed lounge and dining area tucked beneath a canopy of shady, indigenous trees. A star-gazing deck is set over the floodplain, a place to gaze upwards or simply enjoy the convivial campfire setting. Each luxurious room is raised off the ground, with indoor and outdoor shower, full ensuite bathroom and a sunken lounge with views of the floodplains. Each room also has a plunge pool and private deck. Vumbura Plains offers both land and water based game viewing activities. Morning and afternoon game drives are in open 4x4 Land Rovers. Night drives with spotlights allow you to find those nocturnal animals, while exploring the Okavango by traditional mokoro (dug-out canoe) reveals the fascinating smaller creatures of the Delta. Water-level dependent, boating is another idyllic form of water wildlife viewing.

Upon arriving in Cape Town, South Africa’s “Mother City,” you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your luxurious hotel overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The rest of the day is at your leisure to begin exploring one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Meet your personal driver and guide for the next two days and embark on a day of discovering the pristine coastline and quaint towns of “The Fairest Cape” exploring the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve and the coast's natural wonders. (BL)

Venture into the beautiful Franschhoek winelands, where spectacular vineyards cover the valley floor and mountain slopes. Discover wine farms and estates, each with their own story to tell. Stroll through the picturesque little village and enjoy lunch on a nearby wine farm surrounded by old oak trees. (BL)

Day 4. Cape Town

Shop, explore or relax at your own leisure today. Don’t miss a ride on the cable car to the top of iconic Table Mountain for sweeping city and ocean views. Browse the bustling Victoria & Alfred Waterfront and explore the colorful Malay Quarter. (B)

Day 5. Cape Town / Singita Sabi Sand

Take flight for a thrilling safari in the private Singita Sabi Sand. After you settle in to your lodge, meet your ranger for your first game drive and begin tracking and learning about the distinct behaviors of the Big Five, as well as the wealth of wildlife that awaits. (BLD)

Rise early when the animals are most lively for this morning’s game drive. Be alert to capture panoramic shots of the abundance of wildlife across the reserve. Return to your camp for lunch and relax before setting out on an evening game drive. (BLD)

Enjoy early morning and late afternoon game drives. Perhaps join a bushwalk to learn about the plants used to make traditional medicines or visit a neighboring village to meet the people and learn more about their culture and way of life. (BLD)

Day 8. Singita Sabi Sand / Livingstone, Zambia

Fly off to the serenity of the Zambezi River for a two-night stay at the stylish Royal Chundu River Lodge. Camouflaged along the river banks, the lodge radiates seclusion and tranquility. Cruise down one of Africa’s grandest rivers, and enjoy the beauty of the mighty Zambezi at sunset picnic along the banks of the river. (BLD)

Day 9. Livingstone

There is no set pattern to your days. Explore the wonders of Victoria Falls or take a thrilling bushwalk. Between activities take the time to savor the distinctly Zambian dishes. Nutritional labels and pie charts show how your stay benefits the local community. (BLD)

For a different food experience, travel by boat to the fishing centric Mulaka village for a tour led by the mothers of Mushekwa or time your visit just right to go on a Parrotfish Run.

Day 10. Livingstone / Okavango Delta, Botswana

Experience incredible aerial views as you fly over the Delta’s unreachable, wilderness regions on a scenic helicopter flight. Bring your binoculars to zoom in on the secret hippo and elephant channels, only visible from the air. (BLD)

As dawn breaks and the animals begin to stir join your ranger to explore the grasslands surrounding your camp. After the day cools down, venture out again to look for endangered wild dogs lazing with their pack, and leopards, cheetahs and African wildcats prowling the shadows. (BLD)

During afternoon tea, meet the weavers of Vumbura Plains who share stories about their favorite patterns while making their baskets, bringing a whole new meaning to the creations on the walls of the lodge and in the shop.
