2. Jabulani

Jabulani is a family-owned and managed luxury safari lodge in the Kapama Private Game Reserve. Tucked along a dry river bed, the Relais & Chateaux accredited lodge is an oasis of opulent serenity. Designed with pure relaxation and intimacy in mind, the suites are complete with stone tubs, an outdoor glass-enclosed shower, a fire-place with a separate lounge area, and a private plunge pool. By day, expansive windows allow for uninterrupted sunshine and views of the surrounding bush, and in the evenings, a blazing fire and a welcoming bed draws to a perfect close another day in Africa. Activities include safari drives in the Big Five Kapama Private Reserve, however, the camp’s most notable offering is the daily elephant interaction with its rescued resident herd of African elephants. Between activities relax on the wooden deck overlooking the dry river bed, work out in the open air fitness area, or indulge in a treatment at the outdoor Spa (additional).

Day 1. Arrive Cape Town, South Africa

With a warm welcome upon your arrival in Cape Town, South Africa’s “Mother City,” you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of your day is at leisure to enjoy one of the most beautiful and vibrant cities in the world.

Day 2. Cape Town

Drink in the picturesque scenery on a Cape Peninsula tour as you drive along the exquisite stretch of coastline. Relish the breathtaking views along legendary Chapman's Peak and take a ride on the Flying Dutchman funicular to the old lighthouse. On your way back towards Cape Town, visit the endearing African penguin colony at Boulders Beach. (B)

Day 3. Cape Town

Leave behind the lively city and venture into the beautiful Franschhoek winelands, where spectacular vineyards cover the valley floor and mountain slopes. Discover wine farms and estates dating back 300 years to the French Huguenots, each with their own story to tell. Stroll through the picturesque little village, and enjoy lunch on a nearby wine farm surrounded by old oak trees. (BL)

Day 4. Cape Town

The day is yours to fill with fun adventures and sights. Perhaps go on a guided city tour (additional cost). Take the cable car to the top of Table Mountain, marvel at the colorful Malay Quarter, stroll through the Company Gardens, past the Houses of Parliament, and then test your bargaining skills at the bustling Greenmarket Square. Day 5. Cape Town / Kapama Private Game Reserve

Day 6. Kapama Private Game Reserve

Meet Jabulani's resident herd of African elephants. Spend time with these highly intelligent creatures, learning about their behavior, their unique character traits, and their incredible story. Day 7. Kapama Private Game Reserve

Another day of exploration awaits with morning and late afternoon game drives, the latter extending into the twilight to showcase the fascinating nocturnal creatures. Between exciting safaris, spend the time at camp, relax at the pool, or indulge in a decadent spa treatment. (BLD)

Day 8. Kapama Private Game Reserve / Depart

Venture on one last early morning game drive, a bittersweet farewell. Breakfast is included before your transfer to the airport for your flight to Johannesburg. and your connecting arrangements.
