1. The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa

2. Victoria & Alfred Hotel

South Africa, Cape Town

Victoria & Alfred Hotel was built in 1904 as the North Quay Warehouse.  Later in 1990, it was converted to a luxury hotel named in honor of the Queen of England and her son. The spacious, air-conditioned, en-suite bedrooms are spread over three floors. All the rooms have coffee and tea making facilities, with private bar, electronic safe, Satellite television, international plugs and wireless internet. In addition, every room has a view over the ever-awake Alfred Basin or Piazza. A stone’s throw from the water’s edge, the inviting Ginja Restaurant has one of the finest dining locations in the heart of the V&A Waterfront. 3. Thornybush Waterside Lodge

Day 2. Johannesburg / Cape Town

When you arrive in Johannesburg, connect to a short domestic flight to Cape Town, where you will be met by an African Travel, Inc. representative and whisked away to the Twelve Apostles Hotel and Spa. Spend the rest of the day unwinding.

Day 4. Cape Town

Cape Town grants easy access to a multitude of exciting excursions; potential activities are limited only by the imagination. Enjoy another day at leisure, perhaps a sojourn to the nearby Cape Winelands to sample gourmet fare or a visit to Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site and place of incarceration of South Africa's beloved Nelson Mandela. Spend some time in the historic Company’s Gardens or Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens – their outdoor concerts are legendary. Day 5. Cape Town

If you have yet to get your heart pounding in the Mother City, perhaps today is the day. Adventures await beyond every corner, from cavorting with the Boulder's Beach penguins to descending into the shark-infested Atlantic in a reinforced cage dive. The adventure-minded crowd are never disappointed in Cape Town, and even the more conservative can push their comfort zone with an endless array of award-winning restaurants in every imaginable style of cuisine. Day 6. Cape Town / Thornybush Nature Reserve

Bid farewell to Cape Town as you fly off to your next safari destination. You will be transferred to a private lodge in the Thornybush Nature Reserve, which has earned its reputation as one of the country’s finest bush experiences. Arrive in time for lunch and relax until time for an afternoon game drive with fellow lodge guests. In the company of an experienced game ranger, the game viewing activity extends into a thrilling night drive in search of nocturnal animals in action - lion, leopard, hyena or jackal on their nightly prowls in search of food. Return to the camp for dinner and a relaxing evening around the fireplace sharing your days experience with the other guests. (BLD)

Day 7. Thornybush Nature Reserve

Twice-daily game drives throughout the reserve, accompanied by expert guides and trackers, provide plenty of opportunities to witness wildlife. As part of the greater Kruger area, the Big Five – the most iconic of the African animals – are residents of Thornybush, along with a remarkable array of fauna and flora. Ask your guide about what you can do to help support sustainable tourism efforts. (BLD)

Day 8. Thornybush Nature Reserve

Explore the rarer sights and wonders of the bush with your skilled ranger during your game viewing activities today. Perhaps take a guided walk through the bush or pamper yourself at the Amani African Spa. Tonight arrange for a candle-lit alfresco dinner as the Southern Cross begins to twinkle in the endless skies. Day 9. Thornybush Nature Reserve / Johannesburg / New York

Take one last early morning game drive and keep a lookout for any animals that may have eluded you so far. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before continuing to Johannesburg. Once you have landed in Johannesburg, connect to your ongoing South African Airways flight and head back to the US. (B)
