Accommodations

1. Arusha Coffee Lodge

Tanzania, Arusha

Arusha Coffee Lodge is hidden among one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations and beautifully positioned below the rugged peak of Mount Meru. The theme of coffee is never far away at Arusha Coffee Lodge as evidenced by the beautifully designed plantation suites and rooms, all adorned with comfortable furnishings.  Each room features an ensuite bathroom including a triple-headed shower, bathrobes and slippers, hairdryer, electronic safe, mini-bar, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities. The homey feel of the lodge is by no means accidental as the origins of the homestead continue to emit glimpses of times-gone-by.  The main Plantation House is home to an à la carte restaurant, an intimate bar and a cozy lounge, all of which have inviting open log fires.  There are two boutiques, an enclosed swimming pool and a popular garden terrace.  The common areas also offer complimentary Wi-Fi.

2. Gibb's Farm

Tanzania, Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Overlooking the Great Rift Valley and the Ngorongoro Forest, Gibb’s Farm is a refurbished coffee farm with a warm, rustic luxury atmosphere. The main farmhouse and cottages, each with a unique theme, offer the warmth and charm of another era, with all of the modern amenities. The cottages have eucalyptus floors, hand-crafted furniture, two queen-size beds, indoor and outdoor showers, a fireplace and private veranda. The main farmhouse features a charming living room, dining rooms, outside verandas, a gazebo and gift boutique. A large, open fireplace offers a welcome spot to relax in the early evening, to enjoy a glass of wine and good conversation. Throughout the day, the culinary team dishes up delectable cuisine. Garden grown organic vegetables and locally raised meat, farm-fresh milk, cream and baked goods provide the healthy, nutritious ingredients for sumptuous breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. The farm’s organic vegetable and terraced flower gardens provide a wonderful sanctuary for afternoon tea or a quiet walk to impart a sense of contentment and well-being.

3. The Highlands

Tanzania, Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Set on the edge of the mountain forest hugging the Olmoti volcano to the north of Ngorongoro Crater, The Highlands strikes a perfect balance between a true wilderness experience and a high-style, contemporary escape. The eight elegant domed suites offer king-sized beds with floor-to-canvas-ceiling bay windows opening out to spectacular views, en-suite bathrooms with showers, flushing toilets, and wood-burning stoves for the cold winter evenings. Wi-Fi is available in your room. At the heart of the camp is an authentic indoor fireplace designed to emulate the traditional East African campfire experience. Relax in the library or enjoy a drink from the bar and unwind in comfort and style at the end of each rewarding day.

Open on two sides to the great outdoors, the tents have generous living spaces. Sink into a lounger and unwind as you await drinks from your private butler or soak in your private hot tub and gaze out at the passing wildlife. At the heart of the camp is the reception, lounge and dining areas, incorporating the bar, library and unique wine cellar.
