2. Lion Sands Kruger National Park – Tinga Lodge

Lion Sands Tinga Lodge lies on the banks of the Sabie River in a private concession within the world-renowned Kruger National Park. The Lodge style is grand and spacious lending a feeling of historical opulence with its wooden viewing decks ending a few feet from the Sabie River. The main lodge is air-conditioned and offers access to satellite television, free Wi-Fi and a central pool for guests’ pleasure. The glass-fronted suites each have a private deck with a plunge pool. All the suites have ensuite bathrooms with showers inside and outdoors. The spacious beds are draped with mosquito netting and the room equipped with room fans, in-room safe, mini-bar, hairdryer and telephone. A host of adventures such as tracking the Big Five in open vehicles by day and at night accompanied by qualified game rangers and Shangaan trackers, and going off road for exceptional close wildlife encounters, make for a truly memorable experience.

Day 2. Cape Town

Spend your day exploring the stunning Cape Peninsula. Drive past the sparkling beaches of Camps Bay and Clifton. Wind your way along legendary Chapman’s Peak Drive to the rocky seascapes of the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Continue along the coast to the delightful penguin colony at Boulders Beach. (BL)

Day 3. Cape Town

Today’s sojourn explores the nearby winelands. Learn all about the process of wine making, from grape to goblet. Revel in the scenery…like the picturesque little village of Franschhoek, first settled by the Huguenots. Take a stroll through the gardens of one of the oldest Cape Dutch farms and enjoy a farm-to-fork lunch. (BL)

Day 4. Cape Town

Accompanied by a specialist guide, hike up to the summit of the majestic flat-topped Table Mountain. Once at the top, there’ll be plenty of time to amble around, taking in the breath taking vistas of the Mother City, Robben Island and the Peninsula. Descend the mountain via cable car and enjoy a well-deserved lunch. (BL)

Day 5. Cape Town / Kruger Private Reserve

With a couple of short flights, you’ll be on your way to your safari adventure within a private reserve in the famous Kruger National Park. Settle in and soak up the tranquility of the African bush before embarking on your late afternoon game drive. This superb sanctuary is home to an abundance of wildlife so keep your eyes peeled. Day 6. Kruger Private Reserve

Just as the wildlife awaken, meet your expert safari ranger and hop aboard your open safari vehicle for a thrilling game drive. Photograph away as you spot the Big Five and other wildlife, found on the reserve. On your late afternoon drive, pause for a sundowner as the sun dips below the horizon. (BLD)

Day 7. Kruger Private Reserve

Get a different perspective of the bush on a guided walk with your armed ranger. Absorb the sights and smells as you discover the wonders of the African bush. Tonight fall asleep under a blanket of stars in your very own treehouse, and check off an amazing Bucket List experience. (BLD)

Day 8. Kruger Private Reserve / Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe

Soak up your last morning in the bush, before you fly off to Livingstone, and the spectacular Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy the evening at leisure. (B)

Day 9. Victoria Falls

Today’s immersion in Victoria Falls starts with a guided walk along the misty overlooks. Marvel at the thunderous noise as millions of gallons of water swirl around the islets and tumble over Main Falls, Horseshoe Falls and Rainbow Falls. Continue with a visit to an authentic African village, where local villagers go about their daily tasks, much as they have done for centuries. (B)

Day 10. Victoria Falls

Kick off your day with a river adventure down the Upper Zambezi River. An experienced guide will lead you quietly downstream, drifting though secretive channels. After a lunch stop on one of the many islands, experience the thrill of a few gentle rapids, before returning to your hotel and an afternoon at leisure. (BLD)

Day 11. Victoria Falls / Depart

Transfer to the airport for your departure flight bound for Johannesburg and your connecting arrangements. You may be leaving Africa behind, but you’ll return home with memories that will last forever. (B)
