1. The Silo

The Silo Hotel is a magical hotel towering above the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront. Built in the grain elevator portion of the historic grain silo complex, the hotel occupies the six floors above the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa. The hotel is a celebration of art, style, architecture and design. All the rooms are individually designed and decorated with colorful, eclectic pieces juxtaposing the modern, industrial architecture. Pillowed window bays are one of the key architectural features. Due to the unique architecture of the hotel, the rooms are more spacious vertically than horizontally. The Willaston Bar with stunning views over the city is a great place to enjoy a glass of wine, while The Granary Café offers a more formal dining experience. The Silo Rooftop is the ideal spot for a sunset cocktail or a casual lunch. Guests can enjoy signature treatments at the spa, take afternoon tea overlooking Table Mountain, swim in the rooftop pool or enjoy a guided tour of the museum.
2. Kapama Karula

Kapama Karula Camp – “place of peace" – is set on the banks of the Klaserie River, which glides through the camp, enhancing the sense of tranquility. The spacious suites are wrapped by glass sliding glass doors and offer unrestricted views onto the river. Each suite is luxuriously outfitted with indoor and outdoor showers, his and hers vanities, bath, air conditioning, overhead fans, international adapters, Wi-Fi, iPod docking station and gas heated fireplaces for the cool winter nights. Each has its own deck with a full-size heated swimming pool. Thorntree River Lodge is set in Zambia’s Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, just a short distance from the famous Victoria Falls. Featuring an environmentally conscious, modern design, the lodge draws inspiration from local cultures. Each tented suite includes an indoor and outdoor bathroom and private plunge pool. The main lodge consists of a lounge with an open dining area and cellar stocked with the finest wines. A gym and spa overlook the mighty Zambezi River, and there is a small library with Wi-Fi to check in with the world. The communal deck set along the river is home to a sunken boma and infinity pool. Additional wooden decking floats on the edge of the river and moves with the water level to create the illusion of sailing. Meet your personal driver and guide for the next two days and embark on a day of discovering the pristine coastline and quaint towns of “The Fairest Cape.” Keep your binoculars ready to spot wildlife in the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Continue along the coastline to Boulders Beach and linger among the penguins. (BL)

The reserve offers panoramic views of the nearby Drakensberg Mountain range, and the area supports a wide variety of wildlife including elephant, buffalo, rhinoceros, a large population of giraffe, impala, blue wildebeest and kudu. Enjoy morning and late afternoon game drives throughout the reserve, accompanied by expert guides and highly skilled trackers.
