World Elephant Day is this week! To celebrate, we are sharing how you can participate in elephant conservation with @africantravelinc on their Captivating Kenya safari.
While staying at Sarara Lodge, participate in a sustainable experience by visiting the community-run Reteti Elephant Sanctuary, where you can meet the women who are breaking barriers while taking care of these orphaned animals.
You'll be paired with an elephant keeper and given a behind the scenes tour of the sanctuary. Watch the elephants as they receive their bottles and play in the mud, all the while learning valuable skills, so that they might be re-introduced into the wild.
When you book this safari, a donation is made to take care of the elephants at Reteti.

Celebrate #WorldElephantDay with @africantravelinc and their not for profit partner, @treadright through the heartwarming story of an orphaned elephant in Kenya.
Shaba, a film by Treadright’s wildlife Ambassador @amivitale is the story of the life and legacy of Shaba, an orphaned elephant rescued by the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary (@r.e.s.c.u.e), who later went on to be its first-ever matriarch.
To participate in Kenya’s conservation success story, your ticket purchase to watch the film will directly support the elephants of the sanctuary, as well as their keepers, who were originally the first Indigenous female elephant keepers in all of Africa.
You have until the end of August to watch Shaba, the film. Learn more at shabafilm.org
