1. Victoria & Alfred Hotel

Victoria & Alfred Hotel was built in 1904 as the North Quay Warehouse. Later in 1990, it was converted to a luxury hotel named in honor of the Queen of England and her son. The spacious, air-conditioned, en-suite bedrooms are spread over three floors. All the rooms have coffee and tea making facilities, with private bar, electronic safe, Satellite television, international plugs and wireless internet. In addition, every room has a view over the ever-awake Alfred Basin or Piazza. A stone’s throw from the water’s edge, the inviting Ginja Restaurant has one of the finest dining locations in the heart of the V&A Waterfront. Additional facilities include laundry services, 24-hour room service, a designer spa, gym facilities and a pool with manicured gardens at neighboring Dock House Boutique Hotel & Spa.
2. Kapama River Lodge

Kapama River Lodge is positioned along a bend of the seasonal Kapama River. Decorated to reflect old Africa, the air-conditioned suites feature full, en-suite bathrooms and private patios with uninterrupted views over the Big Five game reserve. Amenities include fans, hairdryers, mini-bar, safe, telephone, Wi-Fi internet access and tea/coffee making facilities. The central lodge area includes an enclosed dining area, where breakfasts and lunches are served and a bar and lounge with two large fireplaces. Evening meals are often enjoyed seated around a crackling fire in the Rhino Boma, where buffet meals showcase the pan-African dishes. The large rim-flow swimming pool is the perfect place to relax on a lazy afternoon. Activities at Kapama include morning and afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles and guided bush walks, conducted by experienced rangers. All game viewing drives and walks are shared with fellow camp guests.

Cape Town grants easy access to a multitude of exciting excursions; potential activities are limited only by the imagination. Enjoy the day at leisure, perhaps a sojourn to the nearby Cape Winelands to sample gourmet fare or a visit to Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site and place of incarceration of South Africa's beloved Nelson Mandela. Spend some time in the historic Company’s Gardens or Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens – their outdoor concerts are legendary. (BL)

Kapama Private Game Reserve protects the biodiversity on the reserve through the established Anti-Poaching Unit (APU). The dedicated team patrols the high-risk areas of the reserve daily and conduct foot patrols in search of wildlife traps and poachers.
