We love bringing our motto, Live the African Dream to life every day and want to share all of Africa’s beauty with you. Here, you’ll find inspiring African stories including our live from the bush events. You can also pass the time with these lists of books and movies to keep learning about Africa. Or enjoy games and fun social content.
Go on…Live the African Dream until you can make it a reality!
Live from the bush
Start your day learning something new about the safari experiences, wildlife, lodges and camps across Africa.
SUNDOWNERS WITH THE ELEPHANTS
In celebration of Earth Month, we went live via Zoom to the Jabulani water hole to visit the elephants and learn about current conservation efforts.
Enjoy our chat with owner Adine Roode, and make sure to watch to the end…THE SUNSET VIEW WITH THE ELEPHANTS IS SPECTACULAR!!
We also met their newest addition a 7-month old orphan albino elephant named Khanyisa. Like a child with a mind of their own, Khanyisa found greener pastures in a limited wi-fi spot but it was a joy to meet her and learn about the amazing efforts by South Africa’s only elephant orphanage.
As mentioned in the video, we are making a donation on behalf of all attendees to foster an elephant. Contributions towards fostering an elephant will also be made when guests book our South Africa Regal Retreats or visit the luxury safari lodge in a tailor-made trip.
Please visit Jabulani's HERD Orphanage to learn more about how to help foster an elephant. CLICK HERE to learn more.
Q&A FROM THE KAPAMA WATERHOLE
Want to know what life is like on a normal day on safari versus living on a reserve during lockdown? We chatted with one of Kapama's head rangers Rassie Jacobs about life on the reserve in the Kruger National Park Area. As one of last year's finalist for FGASA Field Guide of the Year, he's an expert in life on safari and wildlife. We also enjoyed the sundowner and bird calls too.
LUXURY GORILLA EXPERIENCE
Experience Virunga Lodge, perched high on a ridge with the finest views in Africa and enjoy a discussion with the team at Volcanoes Safaris about their experience as leaders in great ape tourism in Rwanda since 1997. You'll hear about the latest wildlife and community conservation efforts. We've also shared what your clients will expect on a gorilla trek and why it’s considered an adventure of a lifetime and what other amazing experiences clients can have on a safari to Rwanda.
Featured in African Travel's Rwanda in the Mist itinerary, Virunga Lodge is a visionary in how it connects and champions the people, the wildlife nd the forest.
