Why Uganda

Often described as the ‘Pearl of Africa’, this lush land is celebrated for its primate population and fine scenery. Uganda has been attracting active adventure travelers to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to view the endangered mountain gorillas for many years.

Uganda's other pearls include the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls and Kibale Forest National Park, where you'll find the chimpanzees.

Getting Around: There are great distances between many of the wildlife regions. Flying is recommended, although fully guided vehicle safaris are also available.

Other Attractions: Ngamba Island in Lake Victoria is home to a community of orphaned chimps, most of which were confiscated from poachers.
