Serengeti Mara River Camp (Northern Serengeti) - July to October
Serengeti Mara River Camp is ideally positioned near the Mara River in the remote northern Serengeti, offering an intimate tented experience close to the action during peak migration months. Comfortable tents are designed for immersion in the wild, surrounded by dramatic landscapes.

Witness one of Africa’s most iconic events—the wildebeest river crossings—as herds navigate crocodile-filled waters. The area also offers superb predator sightings and fewer crowds compared to other regions.


Serengeti Woodlands Camp (Southern Serengeti) - January to March
Serengeti Woodlands Camp is set in the southern plains near a permanent marsh, placing it in the heart of the Serengeti during calving season. The camp features well-appointed tents that blend comfort with a true safari atmosphere.

Experience the Great Migration’s calving season, when thousands of wildebeest give birth across the plains. This period attracts an abundance of predators, creating dramatic wildlife encounters and constant activity.

Day 1. Arrive Nairobi, Kenya

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and receive VIP assistance through immigration and customs. Settle into Emara Ole Sereni, a contemporary hotel overlooking Nairobi National Park. Day 2. Nairobi / Amboseli

After breakfast at the hotel, begin your overland safari with a scenic drive to Amboseli National Park, set against the iconic Mount Kilimanjaro. Arrive in time for lunch at your camp and settle into your deluxe tent before heading out on your first afternoon game drive in Amboseli. Spot elephants, giraffes, zebras, and vibrant birdlife across the wide-open plains, then end the day with sundowner cocktails as the African sun casts golden light over the savannah and Mount Kilimanjaro towers above. Day 3. Amboseli

Day 4. Amboseli / Ngorongoro Crater

Cross into Tanzania and drive toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area via Arusha, stopping for lunch along the way. Spanning nearly 12 miles in diameter, the awe-inspiring crater is framed by a towering volcanic rim rising 2,000 feet above the floor, creating an almost otherworldly landscape. (BLD)

Day 6. Ngorongoro Crater/ Serengeti

Travel from Ngorongoro to the Serengeti and settle into your camp, ideally positioned for exceptional wildlife viewing year-round.

  • April to June and November to December: Serengeti Sametu Camp in the central Serengeti’s Seronera Valley, where abundant water ensures excellent game viewing and wildebeest congregate.
  • July to October: Serengeti Mara River Camp in the Northern Serengeti, near the Mara River to witness dramatic wildebeest river crossings.
  • January to March: Serengeti Woodlands Camp in the Southern Serengeti, perched near a permanent marsh and ideal for calving season.

The Serengeti, covering over 5,700 square miles, is one of Africa’s oldest and most iconic wildlife reserves. Another full day of wildlife immersion in the Serengeti. Day 9. Serengeti / Maasai Mara

Fly from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara and transfer to Saruni Eagle View, set within the private Naboisho Conservancy. Head out on an afternoon game drive in this wildlife-rich area, known for its high concentration of big cats and limited vehicle access. As the day winds down, perhaps pause for sundowners overlooking the sweeping plains before returning to camp. (BLD)

Day 10. Maasai Mara

Explore the conservancy with a mix of morning and afternoon game drives, tracking lions, elephants, giraffes, and abundant plains game. Activities extend beyond traditional safaris, with guided bush walks and night drives offering a different perspective on the ecosystem. Time at camp reveals the rhythm of the landscape, while visits to select community and conservation initiatives—such as the Enjoolata Awareness Centre, women-led enterprises, and reforestation projects—offer meaningful insight into how the Maasai protect this wilderness and sustain their way of life. A full day to further experience this remarkable conservancy. Timeless Kenya and Tanzania safari – Frequently Asked Questions

The Classic Collection features curated tours to top safari destinations, with set departures, limited to 12–20 guests, and led by experienced local guides.

“Locally hosted” means you’ll be guided by expert local guides, with no dedicated travel director accompanying the group. From Nairobi to Amboseli and on to Ngorongoro, the same guides travel with the group overland. In the Serengeti and Maasai Mara, local lodge guides lead the safari activities, bringing deep knowledge of wildlife, landscapes, and local culture.

This itinerary blends independent travel with shared safari experiences. Transfers and flights are arranged, while game drives and activities are shared in small groups at each camp.

This journey combines road transfers and bush flights. From Nairobi to Amboseli and on to Ngorongoro Crater, travel is by 4x4 safari vehicles with pop-up roofs and a window seat for everyone. From Ngorongoro, guests fly to the Northern Serengeti from July to October due to longer distance, while travel to the Southern and Central Serengeti during other months is overland in 4x4 safari vehicles. From the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara and returning to Nairobi, travel is by bush planes, with game drives operated by each camp in their own safari vehicles.

All accommodations, most meals, domestic flights, transfers, guided safari activities, and park fees are included.
Not Included: International airfare, gratuities, visas, personal expenses, and optional activities.

This safari offers exceptional wildlife viewing, with chances to see the Big Five, large elephant herds in Amboseli, black rhinos in Ngorongoro Crater, and abundant predators and plains game across the Serengeti and Maasai Mara.

The Great Migration is a year-round movement. Calving season takes place from January to March in the Southern Serengeti. From April to June and November to December, large herds of wildebeest can be seen across the Central Serengeti. River crossings typically occur from July to October in the Northern Serengeti and Maasai Mara.

The core itinerary and travel dates are fixed. However, it can be enhanced with optional activities such as a hot air balloon safari, pre- or post-tour nights, or extensions to destinations like the Kenya coast, Zanzibar, or gorilla trekking in Rwanda.

This journey combines Kenya and Tanzania’s most iconic safari regions—from Amboseli’s elephants and Ngorongoro Crater to the Serengeti and Maasai Mara—offering exceptional wildlife viewing and the chance to witness the Great Migration.

A 10% deposit is required at booking, with the balance due 90 days before departure.
