Accommodations

1. InterContinental Johannesburg O.R. Tambo Airport

The Intercontinental Johannesburg O.R. Tambo is conveniently located within Johannesburg’s O.R. Tambo International airport and a safe and easy walk from the international arrivals hall.  The beautifully furnished en-suite rooms feature a writing desk, complimentary Wi-Fi, tea and coffee making facilities, mini-bar, television with DSTV and DVD player, electronic safe, 24-room service, porter service and wakeup facility. Complimentary luggage storage is available for guest use while on safari.  Services and facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, a uniquely African dining experience at the popular Quills Restaurant, which serves a range of breakfast, lunch and dinner options as well as light meals and drinks.

2. Tuludi Camp

Tuludi offers an iconic Delta experience in the most refined of surroundings. Enjoy the space and serenity of an exclusive private reserve on the fringes of the Okavango Delta with only a handful of camps in over 200,000 hectares.

No day will be the same at Tuludi, and with game drives, walking safaris and fantastic water-based game viewing on offer, you'll discover the best of the Delta. Turn your safari into a real vacation and spend some time relaxing in camp. With a large swimming pool at the main area, a plunge pool at your room and a treehouse library, there are plenty of spaces for a spot of chill out time.

3. Jao

Botswana, Okavango Delta

Jao Camp is situated in the heart of Botswana's Okavango Delta, on a densely wooded, oval-shaped island. Shaded by a canopy of trees, the luxurious tents and villas, feature an open-plan design, with vintage-style fittings, private plunge pools, indoor and outdoor showers, and a sala for afternoon siestas. Raised walkways connect the rooms to the two-storey main area which includes a plunge pool, library, gym, and boma for dining under the stars, complemented by an excellent wine cellar. A romantic Star Bed is a seasonal option when water levels permit. Jao offers both land and water activities, depending on the fluctuating levels of the Okavango's floodwater. Activities include morning and evening game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, boating and traditional mokoro rides (dug-out canoes). Fishing is also possible, and the guides will be happy to take you to their secret spots to try for Pike and a variety of Bream species.

 

4. King's Pool

Botswana, Linyanti Wildlife Reserve

The elegant King’s Pool overlooks the handsome oxbow lagoon of the same name in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, bordering Chobe National Park, and the important wildlife corridor that straddles Angola, Namibia, Zambia and Botswana. The camp is 100% solar-powered. The luxurious thatch and canvas rooms, boasts a large bedroom area and lounge leading to a veranda that soaks up the gorgeous views. The main camp area comprises a lounge, library, dining and a convivial bar area stylishly set on expansive raised decks close to the water’s edge. There is also a pool and an open-air 'kgotla' for evening dining under the stars. The river along which King’s Pool is located hosts numerous species of birds and is a magnet for game, especially elephant, in the dry winter months. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, night drives to spot the nocturnal animals, guided nature walks, game viewing hides and a barge cruise along the Linyanti River (water levels dependent).

Day 1. Arrive Johannesburg, South Africa

Arrive in Johannesburg where you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.

Day 2. Johannesburg / Okavango Delta

Take flight to your camp deep in the Okavango Delta and ease into your holiday before your first game drive. Relax at the main swimming pool, your room's plunge pool, or the treehouse library. Enjoy the luxury of space as you explore the floodplains and emerald forests on safari. (BLD)

Day 3. Okavango Delta

As the sun rises over the Khwai Private Reserve, journey by foot, boat or jeep spotting the enormous herds of elephants and buffalo and the large concentration of predators. Consider spending the night in the Tuludi Sky Suite surrounded by the endless night sky. Take a peak form the hide overlooking the hippo pool before the wildlife sings you to sleep. (BLD)

Day 4. Okavango Delta

Get ready for some incredible aerial views as you fly over the pristine Okavango Delta. Land in the heart of delta on a remote island in the Jao Reserve. Join your ranger to explore the wetlands aboard a mokoro, a traditional dugout canoe. Poling quietly through the wetlands and water lilies, he’ll point out the abundant bird life and perhaps a tiny reed frog. (BLD)

Day 5. Okavango Delta

Set out for your morning game drive to view huge herds of red lechwe followed by prides of lion or avian treasures. Then visit the camp's new museum and gallery for more insight into the area's wildlife. (BLD)

Day 6. Okavango Delta / Linyanti

Meet your bush pilot and fly to your next camp in an area known for its large number of elephants and wonderful predator sightings of lions, leopards and wild dogs. In the afternoon, enjoy a ride fit for royalty on the Queen Silvia barge and look out for submerged hippos and wildlife along the river (BLD)

Day 7. Linyanti

On game drives, walks, or from the air help monitor this critical wildlife corridor. The reserve boarding Chobe National Park is in an elephant highway, home to the world's largest free ranging herds as well as wild dog. Upon your return, enjoy a refreshing sundowner before a starlit dinner. (BLD)

Help monitor elephants traveling through the important wildlife corridor as guides use the data to reduce human-wildlife conflict.

Day 8. Linyanti

Take a guided walk and bring your binoculars to spot the birds from the Okavango specials to mopane woodland. The birding is exceptional here. Back at camp, an elevated hide is the perfect place to spy massive elephant feet and photograph animals. Enjoy one last after-dark safari to spot the nocturnal creatures along the channel. (BLD)
