The camp is 100% solar-powered. The luxurious thatch and canvas rooms, boasts a large bedroom area and lounge leading to a veranda that soaks up the gorgeous views. The main camp area comprises a lounge, library, dining and a convivial bar area stylishly set on expansive raised decks close to the water’s edge. There is also a pool and an open-air 'kgotla' for evening dining under the stars. The river along which King’s Pool is located hosts numerous species of birds and is a magnet for game, especially elephant, in the dry winter months. Activities include morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, night drives to spot the nocturnal animals, guided nature walks, game viewing hides and a barge cruise along the Linyanti River (water levels dependent).

A romantic Star Bed is a seasonal option when water levels permit. Jao offers both land and water activities, depending on the fluctuating levels of the Okavango's floodwater. Activities include morning and evening game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, boating and traditional mokoro rides (dug-out canoes). Fishing is also possible, and the guides will be happy to take you to their secret spots to try for Pike and a variety of Bream species.

The ten roomy and stylish canvas tents are fashioned in classical 1940’s style. Complete with Persian rugs, en-suite bathrooms, indoor and outdoor showers, the tents are an oasis of civilization in striking contrast with the rugged wilderness. Jack’s Camp is renowned for menus that emphasize fresh tastes and originality. Three course meals include such treats as fresh tomato and basil soup, ostrich piccata, roast Botswana beef, delectable orange tarts and impossibly rich, but light, chocolate puddings. The guides at Jack's Camp are often fully qualified Zoologists/Biologists, working on Ph.D. research. Together they team up with the Zu/'hoasi Bushmen to guide guests on morning walks and game drives.
