“World Philanthropy Day is celebrated each November in the spirit of recognizing the significant contributions of the philanthropic community,” said Sherwin Banda, president of African Travel, “and we are proud to include ourselves in that category. We invite all of our travelers to volunteer during their stays, and a significant portion of our guests choose to donate their time, expertise and physical labor to a variety of projects across Africa.”

African Travel, Inc. Unveils Six New Itineraries for 2017

Oct. 20, 2016 – African Travel, Inc.’s recent brochure launch highlights six new itineraries for 2017, including two “new and improved” safaris and an unforgettable four-day community experience in the northern Maasai Mara. These itineraries, venturing from South Africa to Mozambique, were developed to accommodate popular demand and suggestions from both agents and their clients.

“We place the highest importance on our guests’ experience, and are constantly following up throughout the process to ensure the highest levels of satisfaction,” said Sherwin Banda, president of African Travel, Inc. “When our guests and their agents recommend additional destinations and experiences for safaris, we listen and make it happen.”

New offerings for 2017 include:

ME to WE Kenya Community Experience: African Travel, Inc. partners with ME to WE to provide this immersive and transformative volunteer experience. Guests delve into Kenya’s vibrant culture and landscape while contributing to the community by participating in a “water walk,” learning the art of traditional Maasai beading, and assisting with the building of a new school. Other unforgettable highlights include a sunrise hike with Maasai guides, a guided tour of a local primary school, and a visit to the local market.

Best of Botswana: This exceptional journey explores the diverse range of wildlife and landscapes that make up this special corner of Africa. Guests discover the spectacular Victoria Falls, one of the world’s Seven Natural Wonders, and experience the thrill of morning and afternoon safari activities in the immense Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Under Kenyan Skies: Guests on this safari absorb the best of Kenya’s wildlife and culture in the finest eco-luxury accommodations. Highlights include exploration in two iconic wildlife regions, Laikipia and the Maasai Mara, in open vehicle day and night game drives, guided walks, horseback safaris, and visits to community and conservation projects. Guests enjoy the serenity of sleeping under a blanket of stars in handcrafted four-poster beds and are introduced to an orphaned foster elephant at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

South African Adventure: This comprehensive journey features a thoughtful mix of deluxe and luxury properties. Guests discover Cape Town’s diverse culture, urban sophistication and stunning scenery before exploring two different private Kruger area game reserves with professional rangers who are passionately committed to the conservation of Africa’s wildlife.

African Romance: As a “new and improved” itinerary, “African Romance” now includes a longer four-night beach stay in Mozambique and a fourth night in Cape Town to accommodate a full day private winelands excursion. The safari features the same three-night safari in Kruger private reserve but has removed the winelands stay to allow less travel time.

Marine and Wildlife Encounter: This popular journey has been updated for 2017 to include a new three-night stay at Grootbos Garden Lodge. Guests explore the wildlife-rich Shamwari Game Reserve, home to the coveted Big Five and one of the largest private conservation initiatives in Southern Africa, as well as the beautiful Cape Peninsula on a series of active and nature-based adventures.
