Accommodations

1. Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge

Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge is hidden among one of Tanzania’s largest coffee plantations and beautifully positioned below the rugged peak of Mount Meru. The theme of coffee is never far away at Arusha Coffee Lodge as evidenced by the beautifully designed plantation suites and rooms, all adorned with comfortable furnishings.  Each room features an ensuite bathroom including a triple-headed shower, bathrobes and slippers, hairdryer, electronic safe, mini-bar, telephone, tea and coffee making facilities. The homey feel of the lodge is by no means accidental as the origins of the homestead continue to emit glimpses of times-gone-by.  The main Plantation House is home to an à la carte restaurant, an intimate bar and a cozy lounge, all of which have inviting open log fires.  There are two boutiques, an enclosed swimming pool and a popular garden terrace.  The common areas also offer complimentary Wi-Fi.

3. &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge

Perched on the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, the sumptuous &Beyond Ngorongoro Crater Lodge is without doubt one of the most spectacular lodges in Africa. Inspired in design by the Maasai mud and stick manyatta, three separate and intimate camps are reminiscent of a bygone era. An eclectic blend of elegant teak paneling, Victorian furnishings and whimsical African touches creates an atmosphere that is as elegant and unique as the crater itself. Steeped in romance, the spacious suites boast floor-to-ceiling glass windows. 4. Serengeti Bushtops

Located in one of the world’s most magical settings, Serengeti Bushtops is designed to blend into its surroundings. The entire camp is completely under canvas and uses solar power for most of its energy needs. The spacious tents are secluded havens of privacy and calm. Open on two sides to the great outdoors, the tents have generous living spaces. Sink into a lounger and unwind as you await drinks from your private butler or soak in your private hot tub and gaze out at the passing wildlife. At the heart of the camp is the reception, lounge and dining areas, incorporating the bar, library and unique wine cellar. The deck and pool provide additional spaces to relax during the heat of the day. A highlight of each day is savoring a gourmet meal and sharing safari stories with fellow guests.

Itinerary

Day 1. Arrive Arusha, Tanzania

Touch down at Kilimanjaro airport where you’ll be greeted and transferred to your well-appointed lodge in a lush garden setting. Relax and enjoy the remainder of your day.

Day 2. Arusha / Tarangire National Park

After breakfast transfer to Arusha Airport for the light aircraft flight to Tarangire National Park. You will be met and whisked away on a game drive on the way to the camp. Arrive in time for lunch, followed by an afternoon game drive into this unspoiled wilderness area. Return for dinner, just as the sun begins to fade. (BLD)

Day 3. Tarangire National Park

Awaken to your first morning in the wilderness and enjoy a welcoming cup of coffee served on your tent’s deck. Set off to explore this remote corner of Tarangire National Park on morning and afternoon game drives. Between drives there is the option to visit the Mwika village. Taste the local honey and meet the beekeepers, one of many success stories from the village. (BLD)

On the border of Tarangire National Park, visit the beekeeping project located in the village of Mwika. Honey is a staple of the community's diet and has great nutritional value. Through innovative projects, the village is able to increase production to meet the needs of their people and sell extra honey to nearby camps.

Day 4. Tarangire National Park / Ngorongoro Crater

After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for the light aircraft flight to Manyara airstrip. You will be met on arrival and transferred to to your camp set on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. (BLD)

Day 5. Ngorongoro Crater

Descend through the early morning mist 2,000 feet into the crater for an awesome wildlife experience. Known as ‘the eighth wonder of the world' and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's best-known wildlife arenas. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot inside the crater, before returning to the lodge in the late afternoon. (BLD)

Day 6. Ngorongoro Crater / Serengeti National Park

Transfer to Manyara Airstrip for your flight to the Serengeti. Situated in a secluded part of the northern Serengeti, this luxurious and intimate tented safari camp offers an elegant and private location from which to explore this incredible national park. (BLD)

Day 8. Serengeti National Park

Another glorious day in the vast Serengeti. A hot air balloon ride is one of the most magical ways to experience the Serengeti. Balloon safaris take off just before dawn so that you are high above the plains in time for sunrise. A walk in the bush, surrounded by the sights, sounds and smells of Africa, is a very personal experience (BLD)

Guests have the opportunity to visit a local school and support the education of local children. Tours led by the headmaster are informative, memorable and inspirational. Simply by visiting Serengeti Bushtops, you make a positive difference to the future of the School, its children and the local community.

Day 9. Serengeti National Park / Depart

Savor the last morning in Tanzania. After breakfast transfer to the airstrip for the scheduled light aircraft flight to Arusha. Enjoy lunch and a place to relax at a day room reserved for your use. Later this afternoon transfer to Kilimanjaro Airport for your onward travels. (BL)
