Day 2. Cairo

Meet your private Egyptologist guide for a full-day tour, starting at the Grand Egyptian Museum. Marvel at the “floating” Obelisk and the 36-foot statue of Ramses II. Continue to the Great Giza Pyramid, one of the Seven Wonders of the World, and the enigmatic Sphinx, carved from natural rock. You’ll even have the chance to enter the Great Pyramid of Khufu. Next, visit the Egyptian Museum, home to the treasures of King Tutankhamun and countless ancient artifacts. For lunch, enjoy a meal at a boutique family-owned restaurant, offering a taste of traditional Egyptian cuisine. In the evening, enjoy a stroll through Cairo’s historic Khan El Khalili Bazaar, one of the city’s largest and oldest markets, and relax with tea or coffee at a local café. (BL)

Day 3. Cairo / Abu Simbel / Aswan

Fly to Aswan, then connect to your flight to Abu Simbel. Upon arrival, a local driver will take you to the UNESCO-listed Abu Simbel temples, built during Ramses II’s reign (1290-1224 BC) to celebrate his 30th anniversary. Renowned among Egypt’s most impressive monuments, the complex includes the Great Temple dedicated to Ramses II and the Small Temple honoring his wife, Nefertari. Both temples were relocated to escape the Aswan High Dam’s rising waters. After exploring, return to Aswan, check into your hotel, and enjoy a relaxing felucca sailing excursion, soaking in the serene Nile scenery. (B)

Day 4. Aswan / Luxor

Day 6. Luxor / Cairo / Fayoum

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Cairo, then head to the Fayoum Oasis. Known as the “Land of Crocodiles” in ancient Egypt, Fayoum is Egypt’s oldest oasis, celebrated for its scenic lakes, including Lake Qarun, and its rich archaeological heritage. (B)
