Accommodations

1. Sanctuary Sussi & Chuma

Named after Dr. David Livingstone's faithful friends Sussi and Chuma, the lodge is built on a dramatic bend of the Zambezi River only 7 miles upstream from the world famous Victoria Falls, within Mosi – oa Tunya National Park.  Set among Jackalberry trees and Phoenix palms, the lodge offers unrivalled views and exclusivity. The luxury tree houses are built into the canopy of majestic ebony trees lining the river bank and are connected by wooden walkways. Each air-conditioned room includes an en-suite bathroom with bathtub, hairdryer, minibar and overhead fans. A private viewing deck boast superb views over the white waters of the Zambezi. And if the fancy takes you, enjoy a private dinner on your deck, while the sounds of the bush provide enchanting background music.

2. Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero

Botswana, Chobe National Park

Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero is a luxurious riverside retreat in the heart of the bush, on the edge of Chobe National Park. From the lodge’s hilltop position, guests can enjoy far reaching panoramic views over the Chobe River and floodplain below. The luxury thatched en-suite cottages feature a large freestanding bath, with indoor and outdoor showers. Each cottage has its own private garden where guests can sip cocktails after a day of game viewing or even enjoy a private dinner served under the African sky.  Additional features include mosquito nets, ceiling fans, air-conditioning, hairdryer, minibar, and an in-room safe. The main public area includes a lounge, library and dining room, which are linked to outdoor viewing patios. Guests can relax in the split-level swimming pool or unwind with a pampering session in the full service spa complete with a treetop treatment room. Complimentary wireless internet access is available in all the rooms of the lodge.

3. Sanctuary Stanley's Camp

Botswana, Okavango Delta

Sanctuary Stanley's is a classic tented camp built under an imposing African Ebony tree on a private concession overlooking the Okavango floodplains. Each season the area around the camp changes from lush green when the rain flows down from the Angolan highlands to dry savannah when the Kalahari Desert tightens its grip. The canvas tents are individually designed, with a classic and understated elegance, that hark back to the explorers of the 19th century. The camp is not air-conditioned, and each tent features a ceiling fan, en-suite bathroom with indoor shower, hairdryer, in-room safe, and large private wooden deck. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available. The main camp features the bar, library, curio shop, lounge and dining area with incredible views over the floodplains. Watch giraffe and other plains game march across the savannah from the rim flow swimming pool. This is one of the best places in the world for seeing buffalo in large numbers, with herds often exceeding 2,000.

4. Sanctuary Chief's Camp

Sanctuary Chief's Camp is located on the famous Chief's Island in the Mombo Concession of the Moremi Game Reserve in the Okavango Delta. Personal service, an extraordinary setting, exceptional viewing and enthusiastic expert guides are what sets this property apart. The luxury bush pavilions each have their own private dining area, a tranquil outside seating area and a plunge pool, all perfect for absorbing the surrounding plains and majestic African skies. The bathrooms offer a spacious outdoor shower, a large bath tub, beautiful floor to ceiling windows and folding glass door with stunning views of the delta. Each bush pavilion has air conditioning, fan and Wi-Fi access. The main lodge is the sociable space at the heart of the camp, and features the bar, library, dining room and an expansive deck, with captivating views over the floodplains. Wash away the dust from a spectacular game viewing drive, with a massage or a yoga session at the fitness center. 70% of the camp’s electricity comes from solar panels and battery banks without any compromise to comfort. Game viewing activities are led by expert and knowledgeable guides in open 4x4 vehicles. The seasonal mokoro excursion offers a unique perspective of the bush as you quietly glide through the byways created by the floodwaters and get very close to the biggest of game.

Itinerary

Day 1. Arrive Livingstone, Zambia

After a warm welcome, transfer to the 5-star luxury Sanctuary Sussi and Chuma, just a short drive, from the world-famous Victoria Falls. The twelve luxury treehouses at the lodge are built into the canopy of ebony trees lining the river bank. (D)

Day 2. Livingstone, Zambia

A day at leisure to enjoy some of the many activities on offer. The lodge offers walking tours of the falls or canoeing along the Zambezi. Spend some time on an early morning or late afternoon walking safari and learn about rhino conservation in the area. (BLD)

Visit the Nakatindi village and stop by the school or the Chipego bike shop, where guests can hire bicycles to use to tour the village. The bike shop is run by women supported by the lodge and the women love to have guests visit.

Day 3. Livingstone / Chobe National Park, Botswana

The morning is at leisure to enjoy the activities on offer and afterwards you will be transferred by road to Chobe Chilwero, a 5-star luxurious riverside retreat in the heart of the bush and home to the world's largest remaining population of elephants. During your stay enjoy a 30 minute Soul of Africa massage at the spa, game drive in the Chobe National Park, and a sundowner cruise on the Chobe River. (BLD)

Day 4.

Morning and afternoon game drives provide close encounters and incredible photo opportunities. End your day while watching an African sunset over the still waters of the Chobe River from the comfort of a riverboat. (BLD)

Day 5. Chobe / Okavango Delta

Transfer to Kasane and take a light charter aircraft to Sanctuary Stanley’s private airstrip in the world-renowned Okavango Delta. A small luxury camp of only eight classic-style safari tents overlooking the Okavango Delta floodplains. (BLD)

Day 6. Okavango Delta

Enjoy morning and late afternoon game drives, walks and mokoro excursions. Bordering the Moremi Game Reserve, this private concession is home to a wide variety of big game, including elephant, buffalo, giraffe, hippo, lion, leopard, cheetah and wild dog. End your day with a private dinner on your covered deck from where elephants, giraffes, buffalo and other wildlife can be seen. (BLD)

Day 7. Okavango Delta - Chief's Island

In the morning, you fly to Chief’s Camp and settle in to your spacious and breezy bush pavilion. Get ready to experience up-close encounters with the Okavango Delta’s abundant wildlife in open 4x4 vehicles and boat trips. (BLD)

Day 8. Okavango Delta - Chief's Island

Set off on your morning and afternoon game drives. There are several local lion prides and leopards here. Genet cats and hyena are in abundance. (BLD)

Learn about Botswana, enjoying a cultural talk, music, local food, dance and ceremonies set under the African skies.

Day 9. Okavango Delta / Depart
