Situated in Lusaka on a tree-lined avenue near the National Assembly of Zambia, the cosmopolitan boutique hotel with 18 rooms prides itself on its attention to detail and support of emerging local talent.   Statement interiors are created by local communities using recycled, upcycled and sustainable materials.  Soothing stylish bedrooms offer sumptuous beds, walk-in showers, full-sized baths, inviting sofas, flat-screen TV’s, Nespresso coffee machines, complimentary still and sparkling mineral water, and free Wi-Fi.

There is a restaurant, bar, lounge, poolside terrace and a private members’ club – The Other Side – which offers all hotel guests a separate dining, drinking, networking and socializing den, a heated pool, a gym, and spa.

Enjoy your unique location in the “Valley of the Leopard” within the South Luangwa National Park. The park is famous for its high density of game and absence of game-viewing traffic. There is plenty of space and time to relax in one of the tented suites.  Flanked by rolling plains and plateaus, the intimate lodge enjoys sweeping views of the Luangwa River which you can enjoy from your raised outdoor deck. If you’re feeling social the inviting firepit provides an ideal space to gather for a cocktail. The main lodge under thatch houses a cozy bar and dining area. The salt-water swimming pool (no chlorine) has a counter-current system perfect for exercise or a stunning photo op.

Sausage Tree Camp is set in the most stunning location on the banks of the Zambezi River in the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park's best game viewing area.  Voted "Best Location in Africa" 2016 the camp overlooks an expanse of narrow channels and low set reed islands teeming with game, with the magnificent Zambezi escarpment as the backdrop.

Guaranteed private guiding, activities include day and night game drives, walking safaris, canoeing, boating and fishing.

With a maximum of 18 guests accommodated in 7 "Luxury Suites" consist of lounge & dining areas, large deck and private plunge pool. The Kigelia family tent is made up of 2 ensuite bedrooms joined together by an open plan dining and lounge area with its own private plunge pool.

4. Tongabezi Lodge

Tongabezi is a privately owned and run luxury lodge, which combines romance and exclusivity with warm and attentive service. Each house and cottage has its own valet who takes care of guests throughout their stay. All the rooms are air-conditioned and feature expansive decks to take in the views of the river. Day 1. Arrive in Lusaka, Zambia

From Lusaka Airport, transfer to your stylish boutique hotel on a tree-lined avenue. You're instantly invited to explore Africa's contemporary art scene with curated works from locals or connect in socializing dens and bars that stimulate connection. If there's time join a local to explore the nearby art galleries and shops.

Day 2. Lusaka / South Luangwa National Park

Fly to Mfuwe, where you’ll be greeted and driven to your ideally located lodge in South Luangwa National Park. The area around the Luangwa River and its oxbow lagoons boasts one of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa. (BLD)

Day 3. South Luangwa National Park

Known for its big cat sightings, the park is often referred to as the Valley of the Leopard. After a thrilling game drive with the absence of game viewing traffic, relax in the salt-water swimming pool with counter-current system. Feel refreshed as you venture out on a night game drive to try to spot leopards prowling. (BLD)

Day 4. South Luangwa National Park

Head out with your guiding team to experience the original walking safari, a “heart thumping” way to get close to nature and feel Africa’s pulse.Spot the Thornicroft giraffe and Cookson wildebeest endemic to Zambia. In the evening, watch the sun sink below the horizon at the main lodge or escape to a private sky bed. (BLD)

Day 5. South Luangwa National Park / Lower Zambezi National Park

Fly to your next location in the rugged remoteness of the Lower Zambezi National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to some of the best wildlife sightings in the world. Famous for its leopard population and elephant herds, this amazing destination offers a variety of land and water experiences. (BLD)

Day 6. Lower Zambezi National Park

Wake up feeling like royalty in your spacious Bedouin-style tent. Set out on a scenic boat cruise to view the large hippo pods and the lions sunning themselves on the banks above you. For the keen fisherman the Zambezi offers the challenge of fishing for tiger fish. Later this evening, sit out by the boma enjoying an evening cocktail watching a stunning African sunset. (BLD)

Day 7. Lower Zambezi National Park

Listen to the rustling leaves of the mahogany trees while you cool off with a refreshing dip in the pool. Sit on the expansive deck and marvel at the elephants that wander by. If you’re curious about what’s happening on the opposite shore of the Zambezi River, use the camp’s high-powered scope to spot male impalas rutting, elephants reaching for berries on their hind legs, or even a massive crocodile basking in the sun. Day 8. Lower Zambezi National Park / Livingstone, Zambia

Incredible experiences await as you fly to Livingstone and nearby legendary Victoria Falls. Cruise down one of Africa’s grandest rivers on a private boat listening to the cry of an African fish eagle or comical chortling of nearby hippos. (BLD)

Daily excursions include visits to Victoria Falls (Zambian side), river cruises, cultural tours of local communities, fishing expeditions, canoeing, and game drives. A must-do experience is walking and tracking the endangered white rhino in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. When you’re not out exploring, unwind at the sparkling infinity pool set on a wooden deck with stunning views of the water, or retreat to your own private pool for relaxation. (BLD)
